Karatta Beach Cottage is a private stone cottage built in 1869.The cottage adjoins Karatta House.Karatta House was built by a sheep grazier Henry Jones in 1858 as his summer residence and Karatta Cottage was added by the Governor of South Australia Sir James Ferguson who leased Karatta House for 3 years as his summer residence. Our heritage Beach Cottage is decorated in a modern coastal style.Featuring a new deluxe King bed which guests compliment us on its comfort.The Cottage fronts on to the boat harbour which can be seen from your bedroom window and backs onto the beach across the road.A large lawn area is available for picnics or simply cross to the beach. Pets are welcome however we ask that you clean up after them and they are not permitted on any furniture.The front yard is fully fenced however this may not be suitable for miniatures.A $40 extra cleaning fee will be applied.Smoking anywhere inside the cottage is prohibited.The entrance to the cottage opens to an atrium set up as a living room with large TV and fire place. At the rear of the atrium is a modest bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. A doorway from the Atrium leads to the kitchen which is large in size and has a basic two burner stove top and a convection microwave oven. All kitchenware, toaster and kettle are also provided.Although it is no more than a 15 minute walk along the seaside to the cafes we also provide cereals, tea and coffee amenities.The bedroom adjoins with two doors to both the kitchen and the atrium.The decor has a fresh modern coastal feel.Both the kitchen and bedroom have central heating that is thermostat controlled.
